Thanks to Jack, Doug, Andy and Paul who helped out at our Dr. Bike in Deptford on Saturday.

News of our successful bid for funding arrived to late for us to get a professional mechanic from CT UK so it was left to me and Andy to sort out the bikes. I think we did OK – it was all adjustments to gears and brakes and pumping up some tyres.

We had a steady stream of people who wanted information and we also had an enquiry from Deptford Green School about putting on an event there.

Made in Deptford was perhaps a little disappointing – there was al lack of exhibitors and the event wasn’t publicised particularly well. The live music looked as though it was going to be a big draw but as the scattered showers turned into more persistent rain the music went in doors and things fizzled out.

The event has lots of room for improvement then. With the captive audience of shoppers coming to Deptford Market this event deserves to be better.
