We’d had reservations about the location for this event, thinking that it was isolated and a little remote. However, good pre event publicity, every child in the borough received a flyer detailing the varied activities taking place, resulted in a busy and successful event.

As well as the Lewisham Cyclists information stand there were stalls for Dr Bike, staffed by CTUK (very busy all day), Comptons, Energy Efficiency, Road Safety,  Police Security Marking, Face Painting and probably the most successful of all the Company of Cyclists – people just couldn’t get enough of the fun gained from actually riding. Check out the four wheeled, four seater, Swiss built, capable of 80 mph world(powered by Olympic rowers) record breaking Zama  in the photographs.

The Good Going road safety team have arranged a series of training events for young cyclists during July and August and we hear that an adult scheme will be following on.

Jai who came along to help us out actually taught a young girl to ride. It only took half an
hour.

Thanks to Jenny who came along with her folding and power assisted Trikes. Several people were interested in trying these.

It’s good to see that Lewisham Council are taking cycling seriously again by arranging this kind of event.
